Taken: Hope for the Caregiver books

June 17th, 2016

The books I offered to give away at the end of my prior blog post disappeared super fast.  My heart hurts at having to tell everyone else that they’re gone, because I know how greatly they are needed.  I hope this will spur some of you on to obtain a copy for yourself and even to gift one to someone else you know if possible.

They are not costly, as you can see here.  However, they’re worth more than their weight in gold to those who will read with an open heart and take the author’s counsel themselves or help a caregiver you know to make needed changes.

It often seems that we women especially have an enormous capacity for self-sacrifice to the detriment of our own health, but when we are facing possibly decades of being a caregiver, we must not burn ourselves out to nothing in the first couple of years, or allow a spirit of bitterness or martyrdom to form inside us at the sacrifices and hardships we face daily.  It is no virtue in God’s eyes, nor is it appreciated by or helpful to those we are serving.

The writer of this book, Hope for the Caregiver, has been caring for his severely disabled wife for over three decades now, and he lays it out there in plain, easy-to-read common sense.
