The Helper of the fatherless

Sometimes God allows what he hates to accomplish what he loves.
~Joni Eareckson Tada

Dear friends,

I write to you tonight with one message burning in my heart.

Be encouraged!  The situation in Pleven is so far from being hopeless!

This news that was such a shock to us was no surprise to God.  He knew all along that this was going to happen.

It would be unwise to share all the details publicly, but I wish you could see what God is up to. It is awesome and so like Him to bring great good out of something so devastating.  I had a glimpse of the exciting possibilities as Shelley described the big picture in Pleven to me, and from that point, I’ve been praying with joy, knowing–knowing!–that He is on the side of the children and is actively working for their good in this situation.

And we’re already beginning to see it come about!

Those who rushed behind backs to regain control of these children did it for financial gain and other ulterior motives that do not include the well-being of the children.  They may think they have won a victory, but the story is not over yet!

Their actions lie in full view of God, and He will reveal them to the world as He pleases.

They can no longer exploit the children in a dark corner as they did in the past.

They are not in control, not even for a second.

Far from being thwarted, God is using their schemes to accomplish precisely what He purposes.

God can use this urgent situation to send adoptive families not only for Brandon and Mikah, who are being transferred today, but also for the rest of the older children with special needs who are eligible for adoption.

He can use it to rally His people to share in the children’s adoption costs.

He can use it to raise funds for the private group home within Pleven for the children who are not able to be adopted.

This looks an awful lot like the push we needed to work toward the completion of the plan God has laid out for these little ones.

So, friends, knowing that our mighty God can do far more than we can wrap our brains around…

Write the letter, share the story, and pray Psalm 10 over this situation in Pleven with full confidence in Him!

And be ready to act when He nudges you with your next part in this story He is telling!

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

  1. Amen! He’s so not finished, nor are we ready to lay down our spiritual arms. He’s mighty to save, and I will continue to pray and believe this until every child is home from that place.

They forgot that many of us Pleven Mamas are still watching those left behind and we serve a very big God who ADORES those children! My four are home, but I will never forget those left behind. God has very BIG plans.
