Come see something beautiful

January 15th, 2015

If you’ve been reading here for a few years, you were introduced to her as Garnet.

Do you remember this sparkling little treasure from Pleven?

Mama and Papa Miner committed to adopt Garnet more than two years ago, and decided her new name would be Anastacia, or Ana.

Papa Miner went to visit Ana back at the beginning of July.  He turned out to be an original and enjoyable blogger and Mama Miner generously sent me photos.  Between the words and the pictures, it was obvious God was doing something lovely.

Ana’s turn has finally come!

Papa Miner is in Bulgaria this week to bring Ana home, and he is doing a fantastic job of caring for her as well as chronicling their time together.

You don’t want to miss seeing this, a captivating glimpse of a remarkable child beginning to learn for the first time in almost thirteen years what it means to be a daughter, and what it’s like to belong to a tender and faithful father.

It’s a story about Himself that God loves to portray through adoption and I never tire of watching it unfold.

Gorgeous Ana eyeing her new papa.  Precious girl of infinite value to her Maker~

Ana, you remind me of a delicate, exotic flower.  How I rejoice that God has provided so perfectly for you.

I love to see the spirit and sparkle radiating from your eyes, as well as those cheeks already filling out.  Child, I am guessing that you will amaze everyone around you in the years ahead.

From Mama Miner…
Ana totally impressed me with her receptive language skills last time we skyped; she was lying on the bed and I was talking to her and I saw a toy on the bed next to her. I mentioned the toy, and Ana immediately turned toward the toy and grabbed it! She’s obviously a smart little girl!

She is such a character; she seems very attached to Papa and he says she makes sad faces if he sits on the other side of the room while he talks to me.

Ana has a sweet, spunky personality all her own…

Please visit the Miners’ blog HERE to enjoy more photos and Papa Miner’s writing…

…and most of, to pray!

Many of you are now old hands at praying little ones home from Pleven.

Please cover Ana and her new family in prayer in the days of travel and transition that lie ahead.

  1. yes, I have been following this long long adoption !
This dad is incredible ! :)

  2. Papa says:

We appreciate your encouragement, but it is God who is incredible in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. I am one of five American families here this week, and like all of them, just trying to show the love of Christ to one who is an orphan no longer. Please keep us before the mercy seat, where we need to be.
    In Christ,

Isn’t she the most precious girl! She has a million-watt smile!

Her Tatko is very witty; I love his style of writing. It’s clear he’s absolutely smitten with her…and I daresay she thinks he’s pretty all right too.

The churches in Ana’s birth country are so beautiful. I wonder if I may see them in person one day :)

Just look at what God has done. Focused prayers for Ana and her family. How challenging and beautiful it must be to learn you belong after 13 years.
