Many of you remember little Brandi.
You prayed for months that a family would come forward to adopt her, and you rejoiced when God sent her just the right one. Many of you gave financially to help bring her home.
Back in August, her new parents visited her in the Pleven orphanage and reported that Brandi is very much “in there” and even smiled and laughed! Her mom felt a strong bond with her and yearned for the day she could bring her home.
NOW THAT DAY HAS COME, AND BRANDI AND HER PARENTS URGENTLY NEED OUR PRAYERS.
Late last evening I read this email–
Our Brandi is at Tokuda Hospital in Sofia. She was admitted last night with a temperature of 93.7 after a day of lethargy and is being treated with IV fluids. She had not been eating well, and even with one of us dribbling Pedialyte or formula into her mouth any time she’s awake, she had only been able to ingest 5-8 oz. a day. Today she would not or could not swallow at all, and so now has an NG tube, which makes it possible to get reasonable amounts of formula and her medicine in. Praise God, she is much more alert and better hydrated today, but she was vomiting blood during the night. The doctors plan to release her tomorrow evening so we can catch our 6 am flight.
PLEASE pray fervently that God would protect her during travel.
We will arrive at the airport on Saturday at 3:30 pm EST.
Our pediatrician has recommended that we take Brandi to an ER 44 minutes from the airport or one 2 hours 11 minutes from the airport.
Please pray that Brandi will be in good enough condition to withstand the longer drive and at least one of us will be awake enough to drive that far.
The hospital that is further from the airport is much closer to Brandi’s new siblings! The specialists who will treat Brandi long term are also at this hospital, so that would be the ideal place for her to be admitted.
Please pray for wisdom to make that decision and, above all, that it will bring honor and glory to our King regardless of what happens.
PLEASE PRAY FERVENTLY FOR STRENGTH for BRANDI AND HER PARENTS as they are on the LONG, EXHAUSTING JOURNEY HOME as I type these words!
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers, friends, and I’ll be back with an update after I hear one.
Daddy loves his Brandi; Brandi loves her daddy~
