Love the miracle of Katie unfolding before our eyes.  I hope we get to read updates on what she’s doing now with eating, drinking, interacting, socializing, efforts to walk, etc. when you get time…she looks so happy and loved.

  2. Abby Humbles says:

    Inspired!

  3. Christina Schye says:

Oh my goodness!!!  LOVE seeing at how she’s grown!  Blooming and blossoming, definitely the words that describe her best!!

  4. Cheryl says:

I think Katie is the strongest person I have ever known!  The suffering and deprivations that she endured is so heartbreaking. Yet she had enough spirit to wait for a love that she didn’t even know was coming.  Her strength to learn and become part of a family is breathtaking.  I love her and I love what has happened in this amazing story.  Thank you for sharing.

  5. Heather says:

Beautiful! While I was going through them, my Katarina (24 months) was watching. About halfway through, she pointed and said, “KitKat! My KitKat!” I told her that that was another Katerina. She said, “She cute!” Then I got to the end and saw you called her Kit-Kat, too XD

  6. Kim says:

Susanna, thank you so much for taking the time to share Katie’s progress in picture form…it’s amazing to see how far God has brought her in such a short time.  There just aren’t adequate words to express how good He truly is.  Thanks for letting Him express His goodness through your family!

  7. Myra says:

Thank you for sharing your little miracle.  your love and commitment to her is obvious, along with her amazing spirit.

  8. Kim says:

These pictures bring on feelings of anger, sadness, joy, and elation all at once!! Tears are flowing over here.  For all the love you share, for the love of our King.  This truly is a blessed life!

What a great picture post! I loved watching Katie grow from being so much smaller than Verity to towering over her! This makes me so happy!

    Beautiful!

  12. Jen says:

You are both amazing and resilient.

  13. Bev Gigney says:

So encouraging to read this. I am an Australian and I work in a orphanage in China, there are so many children like this little girl there life is a cot!! They never ever are taken out of the cot, their limbs are stiffened, their minds totally dulled from lack of stimulation and love, they are severely mal- nourished.. It just breaks my heart, I am but one person..working alone here and brought down by the plight of these children…I know what could be..!

  14. Johannah Back says:

LOVE seeing these updates- brings tears of joy- to see her doing so well…what a blessing for all of you! <3

  15. Kehinde says:

Bless you so much! While reading I kept thanking Jesus because I’ve never seen love like this by someone who wasnt touched by Him first and then to read ure a Christiqn family….I just thank God for your love and the hope that this photo diary will bring to others. What a beauty Katie is! Can’t wait for the next two years. She will grow from strength to strength, as Jesus is in this world so shall she be! xxx

  16. I have been following your story since before Katie came home, since before I had a special needs child of my own. My family had some connections to you and your story way back at the beginning of Katie’s adventure. I haven’t looked back here in a while. I’m so grateful to see how she’s grown!

  17. Stacy Hanzely says:

May God continue with his blessings :)

  18. Sarah G says:

Love this! I think I’ve been following Katie’s journey for about a year now. I was in awe then and I’m even more amazed now at the transformation she continues to under go. I admit, to my deep shame, that when I first found your blog I thought to myself, “If only a few can be rescued wouldn’t it be better to rescue the more able, the less desperate?” If anyone said this to me now, I would send this post to them with the words, “Better for who?” Your family’s testimony is a heart and life changer. Thank you for sharing it!

  19. Michelle says:

I’ve been following your blog for quite a while now.  I just have to say you are an incredible person!  The things you do for your children is amazing.  It is truly beyond words.

I am amazed by your photo story – when I first came across your blog and you had just fetched Katie home, I knew she would get better with your family but I never imagined the amazing changes, you are an incredible family and I thank God for your faith in Him and your knowledge that every life is worth it, what an amazing example you are!  PROOF!

  22. Henry says:

I’m so touched by this story.   Really lets me know that there is hope for our children, because of families like you guys.   Just keep on keeping on.

  23. linda mcgrath says:

I was overwhelmed by your website and loved the katie story.  From a mom of ten and grandma of twelve little children.  Thnx.

  24. linda says:

I would love to see the rest of Katies story unfold with photos. I am caotivated by her beautiful story. I am so deeply sorry about the loss of your other baby. TOMMY was beautiful and I don’t know why the Lord needed him back but he did. I think you are an amazing Mom. Keep faith. You are going to be okay. GOD LOVES YOU AND KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.

  25. HF says:

She’s beautiful. I wish my children can meet her one day:

  26. Esther Paris says:
