Witnessing through your blog Katie’s emergence into herself and into your family has been a gift to my life.  Thanks you so much.  I remember the night after you sprung her from Pleven and I read you had to take her to the hospital.  I wept with fear for hours that night.  What amazing blessings that she is here and healthy and LOVED and LOVING!  God bless you all.

  17. Jeannie says:

To God be the glory – great things He has done!  Praise God for Katie’s new life!  What a beautiful picture of God’s redemption of us from the domain of darkness to the kingdom of His Beloved Son.  Thank you for sharing your joy with us.

  18. Melissa says:

I am in tears. Oh, Katie. How many more like you are waiting?

God Bless you all. I can almost pick out the photo where it’s as if she woke up from her nightmare and realized there was life out here. Susanna, your eyes in the first photo–your expression says so clearly, “Do you see?” How could anyone look at that and fail to be moved?

She is gorgeous, a blooming rose, a multi-faceted gem, finally twinkling and sparkling in the light of love. And she’s just getting started!

  19. Valerie says:

(saying to myself as I am about the open the email) “I’m not going to cry, I’m not going to cry”…. 20 seconds later, happy tears flowing! Getting to see God’s hands at work, while using your hands…miracle! Thank you

  24. Barb says:

Thank you for this post. I found your blog in August 2011 and it is amazing to witness the growth of Katie. As difficult as life can be, this post shows the power of love and patience. Bless you Katie and your family. I wonder how far she go seeing how far she has come in 2 short years.

  25. Becky K. says:

Love, Love, Love!!!  I can’t say enough how much I love the pic of her seeing herself in the bathroom mirror.  What a precious photo.  It is so hard to believe all of the changes this sweet child has been through in such a relatively short amount of time.  And to see her JOY is such a blessing.

  26. Kristyn says:

Even though I’ve been following for quite some time (quietly cheering you on!), I am astonished by Katie’s transformation through these photos.  To see them all together is a true testament to how well a child can flourish when surrounded by love and given everything they need to grow.  Blessings to you and your family :)

  27. Hermione says:

I can hardly believe that I have been following your blog for two years (I found it right around the time you brought Katie home.)
Seeing those pictures, all together like that… I can only see them through the tears in my eyes.

  28. Joni says:

WOW!!! She is just thriving and learning to really live and love life. I absolutely loved seeing the progress.
Thanks for taking the time to share it with all of us. She is thriving because of the love that your family has shown her. You all are just amazing and are such a blessing to all of your children.
Katie and Tommy have life because of you and your family and your willingness to open your hearts and home to them.
It sure looks like while you are in the process of blessing those two chosen ones, that you are being blessed by them too. I have loved seeing how they are growing and loving it with your family.
May God bless you and rain his blessing on all of you
    I love you dear friend…

  35. Valerie D. says:

What an incredible journey it’s been so far…how the Lord has blessed all of you!!  I feel honored and privileged to join you guys in prayer for these precious lives you’ve been given charge of…not just Verity, Katie and Tommy…but the entire crew!  I’ve not been blessed with any extra chromosomes in our home, but I do have a Fridge Phonics and have had five toddlers use it (and one 8 month old who already is gravitating towards it!) so I literally laughed out loud when you chose “obsessive” for that picture’s caption…”The P says Puh, the P says Puh, every letter makes a sound, the P says Puh!”….although usually in our home it’s more like “The P says The The The The P sayThe P says PuhThe The P says PuThe P says Puh, the P says PuhThe the the the”  LOL  LOVE love LOVE! the walk down memory lane! :D  Thank you for sharing Susanna…and I do hope you’re feeling better after being so sick lately!  In Him Alone…Valerie D.

  36. Cory says:

Amazing! Amazing, God!!! So happy to see all she has become because of love…

  38. Susanna says:

Valerie, that gave me a good laugh–YEP! Says the same thing at our house! Why anyone thinks it’s educational is beyond me! HAHAHA!
