    Precious Katie, getting so big!!!
The other night I was giving my little brother a bath, and he was splashing in the water… at first I was worried about the mess on the floor and having to change, and then the Lord brought to mind how you mention that Katie loves water and could not play in it for nine years…  it was so convicting, I am so thankful that I was able to help this little six month play in that water, safe and loved, and so thankful that Katie is now doing the same!

Being a witness to the journey of Katie for the past year has been pure joy!

  22. Tricia says:

Susanna, I can’t remember if I ever told you how thankful I am for you coming and speaking to our group.  I can’t help but think how Katie’s story would change the world if more people knew it.  I know her story has changed my heart.  She looks so good.  Such a big girl!  Thanks again.  I hope you’re doing well : )

  23. Megan says:

Oh my, I hadn’t checked your blog in awhile and looked at how much Miss Katie is thriving, and here I am, crying and blubbering at the face of redemption.

  24. Katie says:

And that right there… is what I’m thankful for.  Bless her sweet little heart.  Thanks be to God who sheds light where there is darkness, finds the lost, delivers us from evil.  Oh sweet girl.  I can’t even put into words how much joy I feel at her progress… her joy… seeing her treated like the daughter of God that she is.

  25. Beck Gambill says:

Precious Katie! Thank you for speaking of mercy, love, grace, and hope with your little life! Her face drew me in to listen more closely to God’s heart and I’m thankful. And listening to God’s heart propelled me to action. Now I’m praying for the dear ones in cribs in Dom Veternik, Serbia, that their stories will be as filled with mercy as Katie’s!

  26. A Friend says:

Now, I noticed a little typo though… It reads ~Big Brother, Peter – age 5. He is, in fact her little (big) brother, since she is 10! (its still so hard to wrap your mind around that though!!)
Amazing growth. She deserved this love and health 10 years ago, sweet girl. I’m just so glad she didn’t have to die before she received what she held on for so long for.
    Praise God.

  27. Anne Petitt says:

I am so thankful for all that God has done and continues to do as children come home to their forever families.

  31. Susanna says:

Dear A Friend, you’ve raised an excellent question that comes up over and over again, and I’ll be talking about it at length in the big Katie update I’m working on. :)

  32. Lauren says:

Wow – the power of love never ceases to amaze me. She is gorgeous! God is good.

  33. Jill says:

While I am celebrating how big she is getting and how much she is learning, I find it hard not to be angry when I am reminded of her original stats. A 5 inch thigh. 5 inches. It is hard for me to understand how anyone can do that to a child. I would love for you to talk more about how you have found forgiveness and how you keep from being angry with those who did this to Katie- who robbed her of so much.  She is such an inspiration and I love seeing her world turned right side up!

  34. Linda says:

How wonderful Katie has such a loving, and lovely, family. I am very much looking forward to reading the update you are working on (although goodness knows how you manage to fit blogging in with your very busy life!).

  35. Rita from Spain says:

    AWESOME. Just….Awesome. : )))))

  36. JOANN TORRES says:

  37. Cindy says:

Miraculous what can happen with Love and Nourishment, just like with God’s love and His Word in our lives.
Thanks for the update, I’ve been thinking of you all at this one year mark.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

  38. Shanna-Kaye Fancher says:

It is truly amazing with love & nourishment can do for a child! What a beautiful little girl-I loved reading about all the daily things & improvements she has made!

A lady on FB recommened that I read your blog-and I’ll be passing it along to my family. Thanks for sharing!!

  39. Kristin says:

Wow!  Looking at the numbers brings clarity to the difference in the pictures….love the changes.  Love that girl and her mama :)  (and so happy to see Katie doing so well)

  40. Nancy says:

    BEAUTIFUL! Thank G_D for you!

  41. It’s been too long since I’ve been to your page. But the difference in just a year made me cry the ugly cry. What an amazing difference and what a blessing to all! God bless you!

  42. Diana says:

What a miracle. Looking at Katie’s “before” pictures just about broke my heat, and looking at her now makes it sing. What a lucky girl she is, and what an amazing person you must be. I wish every child could have this chance for a better life. God bless.

  43. Johannah says:

Thank you for your updates! Love watching Katie grow and most of all being loved!! Happy 2013 to you and your family!
