Almost home

July 4th, 2012

Do you remember Keith, who’s being adopted from Pleven by Brent and Amanda Unroe along with four other children with Down syndrome from other institutions in Bulgaria?

Tiny Keith is five years old, weighs just twelve pounds, and wears 6 to 9 month size clothing.  He has been kept in isolation in Pleven for a couple of years because of his upper respiratory congestion.

The Unroes can hardly wait to get their hands on their tiny sweetie-pie and give him everything he needs to grow and thrive!

Amanda will be leaving for Bulgaria next Friday, July 13th, but their family is still lacking some of the funds they will need to bring their precious children home.

Some friends are throwing an online baby shower to help Brent and Amanda raise these remaining funds.  They’ve used a nifty visual that shows the financial need broken down into $5, $10, $25, and $50 amounts for specific purposes, such as medical visits, hotel stay, airfare, and meals.

I hope you are able to check out the following link and help the Unroes reach the finish line before next Friday!

I always feel a little silly donating to the Unroes when we are getting ready to travel, but I know just how much blessing they need.  I’m only sorry I won’t get to meet them; they are probably flying out of Bulgaria just as we are arriving.  I think our paths will just cross!

Thank you so much, Jennifer! It is such a blessing to see adopting families give to other adopting families!

Thanks so much for sharing this Susanna! We would love to help families adopt, we just never know how to find such families. Keep ’em coming! :)
