Yay and hurray!!! Adam Boroughs, ICU nurse and adoptive dad of ten, is planning to travel with us when we bring Katie-bird back to the United States!
Lufthansa airlines’ medical department and Katie’s CHOPADOPT doctor have agreed that this is the best option, so plans are now being set in place for our trip!
(No, we will not have any idea of our travel dates until we get a court date. We are praying for one signature from an official who is right now campaigning for a higher public office! Then our case can be assigned to a judge.)
We are all marveling at how many details God is weaving into this story, with every potential loose end being caught up into a larger pattern almost before we see it trailing behind.
The CHOPADOPT staff who are working with us are also marveling at what they see unfolding here. After learning the severity of Katie’s condition, they had begun discussing the need to provide a medical escort service to their adoptive families. They were thrilled to hear that an ICU nurse had offered to serve Katie in this way. Then we found out that Adam and Amy Boroughs, adoptive parents that they are, have already worked with Dr. Susan Friedman, the CHOPADOPT doctor who is overseeing Katie’s case. When the CHOPADOPT staff realized that the ICU nurse in question was Adam Boroughs, they were greatly moved to see our families connect.
We’re moved too, and we feel relief to see how God is protecting Katie. But right now we’re mostly excited and looking forward to spending time with Adam, who by all accounts is worth knowing.
As they had promised, this dear family immediately jumped right in to raise funds for Adam’s travel expenses. And God has been providing. Would you like to watch a thermometer jump up fast, and maybe even help it along? After only two days, they are almost a third of the way to their goal! You can see for yourself on the Boroughs’ family blog!
As Angela (adoptive mom and mutual friend to the Boroughs and me–told you we can’t find any loose ends), put it, only God could do something this cool!
