Guest Post from Katerina’s Daddy

August 15th, 2011

Your family and your church family are diligently praying that God will open up opportunities for you in the dark place to which you have ventured.  I’m sorry I can’t be there myself to help, but I know you are in good hands.

We are praying for your attorney’s health.

We are praying that the director of the orphanage will be open to the questions and ideas you bring.

We are praying that you will be able to spend time with others on Katerina’s floor.

And, of course, we are praying for the bond that will form between you and our daughter.

You are God’s tool for such a time as this!  You will be successful in all that is His will, God being your strength.  Today in church we were learning about Job’s response to his difficulties—”The Lord gives and the Lord takes away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.”  That was grace, not a human response.

I know you are prepared, and I know you are up to the task.

Go in the powerful name of Jesus, and do the will of Him who sent you to Bulgaria,

Your loving and devoted husband,

Share it!

As you were likely preparing to go to the orphanage this morning, 1 – 2am our time, Chelsea, Jonathan and I were driving home after picking him up.  You were on all of our minds and prayers were lifted up for you.  God has sent you and He will bring you through.
As you described the attitudes you see in the people I was reminded of our missionary to Ukraine, Laura Moore.  This was the exact disposition she describes of the people there.  This part of Europe has suffered so greatly.  praying that God’s light would shine in and bring JOY to these people!
    Hugs and Prayers.

Oh, Susanna, I cried when I read this post and looked at the photos.  That precious, precious little girl needs you so much.  I love the photo where it looks like she is really laughing.  I am praying for you and little Katie and your entire family and Toni.  God bless your time with Katie.
