For one special lady.

June 3rd, 2011

I prepared this post for someone who has been a quiet example to me of what true love looks like.  She has given and given and given of herself to meet the needs of her family, until there is not much left over.  She was not able to come to this year’s Big Families and Friends picnic because of some of those needs.  Imagine my surprise when I learned that she had sent a gift along for Verity and Katerina.

Out of her small store of available free time, she had painstakingly worked…

…on a one-of-a-kind, handmade texture book…

…with twelve pages of various textures for little fingers to feel.

Here are just a few of them…

…bumpy, rough, smooth, wrinkled…

We were impressed with the clever idea…

…and touched by the loving work that went into it.

But Verity just likes the book!

My friend, I wanted you to see…

…how much she is enjoying…

…your beautiful gift…

…that is just right.

Thank you, friend.

We miss you, too!

It was such a blessing to get to know you today!  I am happy that you will be a part of our church fellowship!  I was delighted to hold Verity for a while today…I am excited to interact with her – thanks for sharing what you did about engaging her.  I will explain that to my kids too, so that they can catch her attention, as well.
I hope we can get together soon!
