We have an officer.

May 17th, 2011

Right near the end of the business day, a pleasantly businesslike but tired female voice answered the phone.

“Hello, National Benefits Center.”

“Oh, hello!  I’m calling for some information.  Our family submitted our I800-A application seven weeks ago today!  We’re wondering whether we’ve been assigned to an officer yet.  I have our SIM number right here.”

“Okay, bear with me a minute…

…what is your SIM number?”

“It’s ———-.  We are the Musser family.”

“Okay, let me check…

…bear with me here, I’m having trouble getting into the system.”

“That’s fine!”

“Okay, it’s locked up and not letting me in, but do you know what?

I’m looking here…I just grabbed my next file and it has your name on it.

I’m the one who will be reviewing your application.”

Quavering voice, with a lump in my throat, “Oh!  Really?  Oh, thank you, this is so exciting!  Hundreds of people have been waiting to hear this news, and I can hardly wait to tell them!”

Yes, my name is M—— D—–.  It will take me a few days to look over everything, and I’m the one you’ll be hearing from.”

“Okay, thank you so much!”

We said good bye and hung up.

I’ve been staying very calm over these long weeks of waiting, but this evening the emotions broke loose from wherever they’ve been hiding.

“Oh Lord God!

Make me ready for your answer!

I plead with you for Katerina!”

YEA!!  I’ll be praying for M—- R—- as she reviews your application for a positive answer for you and Katerina.  How awesome that you had the opportunity to talk with her right as she was picking your application off of the pile of applications.

Praying for MR as she looks over your paperwork.  God’s Timing ALWAYS amazes me.  All the years and I still get choked up when we can finally SEE what He has done!
