Stayed upon Jehovah

February 21st, 2011

If you are a faithful pray-er, this post is just for you!

As I thought through this update, it became clear that it all leads back to a dark, quiet place labeled “Prayer room.”

It is hard work to stand still in the dark when we are itching to run.

But this is exactly the hard work that God has given us right now!

This week, we are praying…

~that our home study social worker will get our home study to Lifeline asap.  Lifeline is ready for it now.

~that God will provide the remaining funds we need this week in order to pay Lifeline and USCIS fees.

~that Kim will have a productive talk with Lifesong for Orphans about our future application for a matching grant.

~that our attorney’s call this Friday to the orphanage director will be successful.

~most importantly, that we will keep our eyes on Jesus. We are being stretched by questions and emotions we never knew existed.  It is crucial that we look to Christ!

While we are doing battle in the prayer room, we are also praising Him!!!

If you regularly check out the page where we record the details of our adoption expenses, you will discover large and small provisions of the Lord.

Most recently?

An offer of several packets of a nutritional supplement for undernourished children, to be mailed directly to Katie’s orphanage as soon as we have a name and address!

An offer to stay with a missionary family in the capital city!  Not only will that save the expense of lodging in a hotel while in that city, but we are eager to meet this particular family!  They have opened up their hearts to Katerina, and have offered to work together with our attorney to get food to our girl!

And just today, we found out that our adoption agency, Lifeline Children’s Services, has made $500 of grant money available to us, to be applied to our final fee!

“We may trust Him fully all for us to do;

They who trust Him wholly find Him wholly true.”
