Through days of preparation

January 21st, 2011

Joe had to tear out a large portion of soft floorboards surrounding the toilet–and the place where a tub sat, once upon a time.

[The wet, rotted wood made a great visual for reminding the little boys to make sure it ALL goes where it’s supposed to go!  Ahem!]

Same spot, fresh and new.  The heating had to be re-done in this room, too.

Out with the old tub, in with the new!

Looking up at the ceiling above the tub.  New vent system.  Big improvement over the old one.  <grin>

This is the week between our eighteenth wedding anniversary, and Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.  Except it seems that we have lived two weeks within the space of this one.

But what is most amazing about this week is how peaceful it has been.

All twelve of us are sharing one bathroom, there are drop cloths from our door to our bathroom project to catch debris and snow, we are filling out mountains of paperwork and collecting piles of documents, making extra phone calls and extra trips, both of the oldest boys are working part-time jobs, and of course the home educating continues.  We have been using the crockpot nearly every day.

And it is all flowing beautifully.  We are seeing very fast progress on every front.  And it is calm at our house.  No stress.  No chaos.

How can this be?

We believe what we are seeing can only come from the Lord.  We are so thankful to Him for His upholding, and we know that everything He is causing to happen is to save the life of one precious child who is made in His image.

A couple more precious children who are safe and sound here in our home-nest~
