She can hear!

May 15th, 2010

I’ve been waiting for this!  It’s happened three times now, so Verity has officially passed my admittedly unscientific but common-sense hearing test!

When a large pot accidentally bangs against our cast iron sink, right near my tummy, she immediately jumps.  Of course, I say, “I’m sorry, baby!”  because I hate to scare her.

But we’re glad to know that her ears are working!

(We’re still excited to start learning sign language, because it will help her communicate with us in spite of language delays.  Thank you to my sister-in-law for your idea to start learning it before she is born.  We got our first Signing Time video this week!)

I have the theme song for Signing Time stuck in my head!!   My children watch them alot more than I do, tonite while we were at the LOUD tractor pulls and all of us with hearing protection on, my daughter instinctively signed to me but I didn’t know what she was saying!
I hope the program helps with the signing and not the singing!  :)
