Reality Resumed!

February 27th, 2010

If you tried to visualize “being brought back to reality,” wouldn’t you picture it as being some sort of shock, like a splash of cold water in the face?

Yes, I would, too.

This is what God did for me instead, via a dear online friend:

It was in a surprise package Joe brought to me with the mail around suppertime last night.  As soon as it was unwrapped and I felt that softness, I pictured my baby girl in it.  I can’t think of a more gentle way to be brought back to reality.  When Stephen first saw it, he said, “Blanket.  Baby.”

A little later, the gift-giver called and prayed with me over the phone.  Thank you, my friend, for showing the love of Jesus to me.

“He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will carry the lambs with His arms, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.”
